Baseline · 5 Aug
Chest stays at the current set count. Progress load on the incline press first.
You · Today 10:14
My logbook is moving but my chest is not. Add sets or keep progressing load?
Baseline · Today 10:28
Route · RoutineToday's call
Keep progressing load. Do not add sets yet.
The logbook is still moving, so the current volume has not stopped working. Adding sets now would change two things at once and cost you the cleanest read you have.
Evidence
- Incline press +2.5 kg
- Sets held at 14
- Recovery steady
Run this
- Keep the same set count for one more block week
- Add load only where you hit the top of the range twice
- Log reps, load and effort on every chest set

◆ Method
How Baseline decides
01
Assess
Your context across the six assessment domains.
02
Verify
Adherence and data completeness before any judgement.
03
Interpret
Trend, performance and recovery read together.
04
Decide
The smallest useful move — including holding the plan.
05
Monitor
What to track and the exact review point.
Read comparable trends
Matched periods, same measurement conditions. A single reading is noise, not signal.
Change one variable
One thing moves at a time. Change two and the next week tells you nothing.
State the review point
Every decision names what to track and when it gets judged again.

◆ Scope & safety
What Baseline coaches
Natural or enhanced, Baseline can coach your training, nutrition, recovery, check-ins and progress. It does not provide drug protocols, dosing or medication adjustments.
Safety routing and limits
- Routine
- Normal coaching. Assess, verify, interpret, decide, monitor.
- Caution
- Something needs care — a niggle, a run of poor sleep, an unusual symptom. Baseline reduces demand, narrows what changes and recommends checking in with a suitable professional where appropriate.
- Restricted
- Out of scope requests receive no protocol — including performance-enhancing drugs, dosing, or any extreme intake, dehydration or purging practice. Baseline explains why it will not answer and points to the appropriate qualified professional instead.
- Urgent
- Coaching stops. Baseline directs the person to immediate local emergency help — in the UK, 999 or A&E for emergency red flags, NHS 111 only for urgent but non-life-threatening concerns — and does not continue with training or nutrition guidance.
- It does not diagnose, treat or manage any medical condition or injury.
- It does not replace a doctor, physiotherapist, registered dietitian or a qualified in-person coach.
- It does not provide drug or performance-enhancing-drug guidance of any kind.
- It does not turn a visual physique assessment into a medical or clinical judgement.
- It does not guarantee a specific result — outcomes depend on consistency, recovery, nutrition and individual factors.
If you have an injury, a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, take prescribed medication, or have any concerns relating to disordered eating, please obtain guidance from a suitably qualified professional — such as a doctor, physiotherapist or registered dietitian — before following any training or nutrition plan.
